Terms of Reference of the Joint Working Group on Professors of Practice

The University and the Faculty Association agree to establish a Joint Working Group to consider

(a) the University’s proposals regarding Professors of Practice
(b) the Association’s proposals regarding security in the Teaching Stream
(c) the issue of a change in title for the Teaching Stream

with a goal of developing a comprehensive policy.

The University and the Association will each appoint three members to the Working Group, which will be Co-Chaired.

The Working Group will engage in a process of consultation with the University Community. The Working Group shall be provided with relevant and necessary data including in accordance with the provisions of Article 11. Further, it is understood that the Working Group may review relevant policies from other institutions.

The Working Group will make best efforts to reach a unanimous recommendation by no later than December 31st, 2009. In the event the Association and the University are unable to reach a unanimous recommendation, each party will have the right to communicate its final position.
