Bargaining Report
Bargaining Report #4
As you know, UTFA’s last settlement with the University administration expired on June 30, 2014. Your negotiating team has been engaged in bilateral negotiations with the Administration over the past twelve months in an attempt to reach a fair and reasonable agreement on monetary and non-monetary issues covered under Article 6 of the Memorandum of Agreement.
Bargaining Report #3
Since our February Bargaining Report, UTFA and the Administration have met several times, including in what are known as ‘short tables’, where a smaller group from each side meets to discuss a particular issue. We’ve had short table meetings on librarian issues and on the workload policy.
Bargaining Report #2: Bargaining Continues – Preparation for Mediation Begins
Background
In the winter of 2014, UTFA surveyed its membership on concerns for the next round of salary, benefits, pensions and workload bargaining under the terms of Article 6 of the Memorandum of Agreement. The survey’s high response rate helped us determine the proposals that featured in the bargaining platform presented to UTFA Council in March 2014.
Bargaining Report #1
As most of you know, UTFA and the University administration formally negotiate a limited range of terms and conditions of employment on behalf of faculty and librarians at the University, within the framework of the existing Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) prescribing UTFA’s role in representing you. The items currently negotiable are salaries, benefits, pensions, and workload. Our last agreement expired on June 30, 2014. UTFA and the University administration are currently in negotiations but as of yet we do not have a new agreement.
