In view of recent discussions and debates on campus about gender identity and expression, UTFA's members might be interested in this very recent Q and A from the Ontario Human Rights Commission, setting out its views on gender identity and pronouns.

The University of Toronto Faculty Association strongly condemns the threats against U of T’s trans students and others, recently conveyed through social media. UTFA deplores the related acts of violence that have occurred on the University’s campuses. UTFA recognizes the need for and supports the development of a new University of Toronto policy on sexual violence, which includes protection from harassment based on gender identity and/or gender expression, as outlined in the Ontario Human Rights Code.
