As you may know, the Association Grievance regarding the use of student evaluations of teaching (SETs) is currently at arbitration before the Grievance Review Panel. Over the years, UTFA has heard concerns from many members about receiving overtly discriminatory (e.g. sexist, racist, ageist, homophobic), harassing (including sexually harassing), or otherwise abusive and offensive comments (e.g. comments about appearance/attractiveness) in SETs. To help ensure our information is up-to-date, if you have received such comments and would be willing to confidentially discuss your experiences with UTFA’s legal team, please contact advice@utfa.org by January 30, 2026.
